Big Kids

Our USA convention for Close To My Heart was held in Disneyland, California.  A good friend and sister consultant, Mandy Ellery, travelled with me for the event.  We added some time either side for fun.  This page shows how brave we were going on the Tea Cups ride in Fantasyland.  Neither of us like scary rides so we decided to be big kids and do all the tame rides. Big Kids The newly released Paper Fundamentals are proving the perfect accompaniment for these photos.  Their bright, shiny side adds some …

Duchess Retreat Page

sept-2-pages-page-007
I had the great pleasure of running my 12th Annual Duchess Retreat for 24 ladies this past weekend.  My sister runs it with me and we treasure this time together. We proclaimed ourselves Duchesses 12 years ago when we decided our camp would be based on a series of challenges, like the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.  The challenges can be simple but there are always a couple that stretch croppers skills just a little (or a lot if you ask some!).

I look forward to this weekend of creating, laughter and …

Celebrate!

sept-2-pages-page-007
The first thing I thought of when I saw the Kaboom Stamp of the Month was fireworks.  For me fireworks mean New Years Eve celebrations.  We had a very quiet night in for New Year last year, watching a Robbie Williams concert and the telecast from Sydney leading up to their fireworks.  So, my only photos of the night are a dodgy selfie and a snap of the TV screen!

This layout is a copy of the one on page 15 of the Feb-Jul 2014 Ideas book.  I used Jubilee papers on my page.  Did you know we have a …

Freo Architecture

We just love walking around cities and looking up - all sorts of architectural delights await when you raise your eyes above the shop fronts.

For this layout I chose the Paper Fundamentals Basic Assortment Papers (Z1939).  They have a monotone, glossy resist pattern on one side a pattern on the other.  Both sides accept ink around the edges.

6x4 Facebook posts - Page 003

I accented my page with Wood Grain Washi tape (Z1930).  For this effect, simply stick a little down, double a bit onto itself and then stick the next little b…

Miss Beauty

sept-2-pages-page-007
This gorgeous, ball obsessed fur baby is Beauty.  She is my mum's dog but we care for her now mum is in an aged care home.  Mum always says, "Her name is Beauty.  Beauty by name and beauty by nature." and she is absolutely right.  Beauty loves nothing better than a really long run on the beach chasing a tennis ball.  If we are too far behind she will play by herself, letting the ball go at the tide line and then running to catch it just as it hits the water.

Husbands beware...

sept-2-pages-page-007
It's hard to believe, but Mike volunteered to be locked in the stocks!  The lady tour guide at the Round House and I had a really good laugh about that.  Lucky for him we had a lunch date planned so I agreed to his freedom.

This layout is copied directly from the Magic How To Book. (9040) You will find all the measurements and instructions on page 62.  The letters for the title were cut from an extra photo I had.  It was a close up of the limestone walls.  The papers and stamps used come from the…

Fishing

sept-2-pages-page-007
My husband only goes fishing once or twice a year.  This trip was ocean fishing with a group of industry colleagues.  He only caught the one fish but enjoyed his time on the boat.  The rows of reels caught his photographer's eye as did the jetty boards. 8x4 Blog double page photos - Page 005 I used Timberline papers with Indian Corn Blue cardstock for this layout.  The design was super simple so it was a quick page to make.  When I scrapbook photos of Mike's adventures I try to honour his belief that pages should be classic and mode…
