Capture the Day Butterfly Card

sept-2-pages-page-007
Here's a quick card to make.  It took me less than 15 minutes to create it.  I used the Capture the Day Stamp Set (A1165)

Feb blogs - Page 006

Begin by creating a circular mask from a Post-It Note

Next, stamp lots of butterflies in 3 different colours around and over the mask.  Stamp one extra butterfly on some scrap paper and cut this out.  Use your daubers to 'colour' this single butterfly.

Remove the mask and add the sentiment and finish off with the single butterfly mounted on foam tape.  Add a mount of patterned p…

I am so happy with the way these pages turned out.  I have loved using the Heartstrings Papers and these were the last scraps left in the pack!  I think that is one of the greatest joys of using CTMH paper packs... I actually USE it all and don't have to store it.  I usually make 8-12 pages from one pack if I add in some extra card for page bases or, as in this case, work directly on a CM album page.

Ladybird, Ladybird...

sept-2-pages-page-007
One of the things I love best about being part of Close To My Heart is the open sharing of ideas between consultants across the globe.  Today's little card was inspired by a lady who lives in Ohio, USA.  So, thank you Bobbi Frappier Dailey!  I adore ladybirds.

Ladybugs - Page 001

The ladybirds are made using the banner stamps from the Year Noted kit.  I embossed the Cranberry card using the Hearts embossing folder and the XOXO comes from January's Stamp of the month.  I have this card as a kit for all my lovely lad…

This Moment - Girls night out

sept-2-pages-page-007
Here is the second layout for our Little Black Dress night.  It follows on from Friday's post.  A large group of young women (I include myself here because I felt young that night) on the dance floor seem to spend more time taking photos of themselves than dancing!  Perhaps that is more a reflection on the quality of the music than the individuals.  Anyway, the result was a set of fun photos taken at awkward angles but filled with smiles.

This page features heartstrings papers, This Moment and You're the Bomb stamp sets. This page features heartstrings papers, This Moment and Y…

Year Noted - Oxfam High Tea Page

sept-2-pages-page-007
Have you had a look at the beautiful pages in this month's CTMH special promotion?  Click here for details.  The soft orange, blue and yellow tones and subtle prints work so well for cards and pages.  I was surprised just how far this pack of papers and stickers will stretch.  I've created a double page layout and 2 cards and I've only used about half the pack.  Check back tomorrow to see the cards.  Today I'm sharing the pages I made.

Brushed Papers - Using overlays

sept-2-pages-page-007

I have thoroughly enjoyed using the Brushed Workshop on the Go Kit and only had a few odds and ends left over but I had one more layout I wanted to create for my overlays workshop.  I'm happy with the way it turned out.

SOTM - Page 004

The overlay is cut using the Artbooking Cartridge on the Cricut.  I set mine at 5" high which made each vertical band 1 1/4" wide.  Simply cut strips of patterned paper to add interest behind the overlay.

One of the things I love about being a consultant with Close To My Heart is the active sharing of ideas between consultants.  It is rare for me to have to think something up myself - so many really creative ladies make amazing things and show the rest of us how it's done.

Take these fabulous Christmas gift tubes for instance.  These ones were made by Katrina Crute, a consultant in my team.  She showed them off at this month's team play day.  Her inspiration had come from consultants in the Easter…
