Yay!!  Christmas is coming.  It’s a favourite time of the year in our family and we’ve just finalised plans to be together to celebrate – even if I have to quarantine on my return!  This layout will come in handy.

Gnomes in the Christmas Tree

I saw a layout featuring an oversized snowy tree and thought I’d like to do something similar for Christmas down under – so, no snow!  How to jazz up the tree?  With mini gnomes of course.

Cut and Colour

  • Thin cut, stamp and colour several gnomes from the Mini Garden Gnomes set
  • Stamp, colour and cut Santa from the Holly & Ivy card making set.  Add White Opal Liquid Pearls for fur trims and Marigold Liquid Pearls for the buckles.
  • Cut 2 different shaped trees.  Mine were cut on a Cricut but yours could be hand drawn and cut.  Cut some slits in the foliage for gnomes to slide into so it looks like they are climbing in the tree.
  • Create a stack of presents from scraps and add ribbons using Stickles and Liquid Pearls

Assemble layout

  • Using Harbour cardstock as a base, trim out the middle and layer an 11 ½” x 11 ¾” piece of White daisy on each page.  Use the remaining harbour pieces to cut photo mounts in desired sizes.
  • Add elements as shown
  • Stamp flourishes in Sage ink and ‘Merry Christmas’ in Candy Apple ink using the Holly & Ivy Stamp set.
  • Add silver stickles around tree and present clusters.
