Engagement Party Photo Prop Frame

Love is in the air

Mike and I had the great joy of hosting an engagement party for our daughter and her fiancé recently.  Many of their close friends, family members and some of Kathryn’s scrapbook aunties joined us.  I had a lot of fun creating this frame for photo opportunities.

It's not difficult to make a decorative frame but it does take some time.  Start early so you can enjoy the process and play around with placement of elements before you commit to gluing them down. The proposal happ…

Taste of Summer - Cards

sept-2-pages-page-007
I have LOVED using the Taste of Summer Papers and Stamps throughout May.  Here is your final bit of inspiration from me for the month.  Each of these cards is a little different to my usual and were lots of fun to make.

Spin cards (Z1866) are available to purchase through my website. They are 7" x 5" and come in packs of 10. The grid on the strawberry card was inspired by a fellow blogger, laurenctmhcraftings.blogspot.com.au. It uses May's Stamp of the Month, Just Sayin' . One of the things I love about being a consultant with Close To My Heart is the active sharing of ideas between consultants.  It is rare for me to have to think something up myself - so many really creative ladies make amazing things and show the rest of us how it's done.

Take these fabulous Christmas gift tubes for instance.  These ones were made by Katrina Crute, a consultant in my team.  She showed them off at this month's team play day.  Her inspiration had come from consultants in the Easter…

We retired our Christmas Wreath last year after over a decade of good service.  This year we will have a fresh new one for the door - handmade by me!

Snowhaven Wreath

I fell in love with this wreath as soon as I saw it on page 74 of the Annual Inspirations Catalogue.  It did take a bit of time to make but I'm thrilled with the result and can't wait for December 1st to hang it on my front door.

Order a packet of Snowhaven Papers (X7188B) and 2 packs of My Crush Holiday Happenings Badge Buttons (Z2051) on my website…

Hip Pics Albums

My mum lives in an aged care facility.  She has dementia.  Mum has always loved little albums filled with photos of our family.  They help her remember who we all are.  One other benefit I've discovered is that they help staff to know a bit about the person mum is and the family she belongs to.  In the past I used Creative Memories paper albums but they don't exist anymore.  I'm thrilled to have discovered the Close To My Heart Hip Pics albums (Z1956) do the job perfectly.

Warm Fuzzies Door Hanger

sept-2-pages-page-007
Have you ever read or heard the story of 'Warm Fuzzies'?  When I was a teacher I would read this story to my class and have everyone decorate a paper bag with pictures & words relating to their personality.  Througout the day, other students would write a small note of encouragement or affirmation and secretly slip it into the bag. This was a "Warm Fuzzy".  You should have seen the delight on their faces when their bag had a warm fuzzy in it.  The kids would go out of their way to see good thing…
